Marriott International announced the appointment of Laura Santoni as general manager of The St. Regis Cap Cana Resort, where she will oversee day-to-day operations and apply her strategic vision to decision-making, contributing to the growth and development of the property.
« I am very excited to assume the role of general manager at this magnificent new resort located in the Dominican Republic. As a native of this destination, returning to my roots has immense meaning for me, » said Santoni.
She added, « I am determined to maintain operational excellence to ensure that the resort will continue to maintain its excellent reputation for providing world-class service.
Santoni began his career with Marriott in 1991 and has held various positions within the organization, including general manager of Marriott Village at Lake Buena Vista, Orlando, and led the Global Sales Organization for the Caribbean and Latin America.
She has also served in an advisory role for numerous owners, associates and clients, with a focus on achieving beneficial results and finding solutions for their teams, while maintaining a long-term strategic perspective.
The St. Regis brand says that for the past seven years, Santori has played a key role as area vice president for Mexico, driving remarkable growth in the Caribbean and Latin American market.
The St. Regis Cap Cana Resort is the firm’s first hotel in the Dominican Republic, scheduled to open in early 2025, and will feature 200 rooms and suites with ocean views, as well as 70 residences.
Guests at the new property will be able to enjoy nine distinctive culinary experiences ranging from the signature restaurant Nina, to the rustic charm of a private beach experience at Marola Sea Side Bar.
